From south to north in 8 days

Through the Lyngen Alps

This tour is more than just a hike - it is an adventure for curious explorers: lonely landscapes, river crossings and overnight stays under the stars are included!
From Nordkjosbotn in the south to Lyngstuva in the far north, we cross the entire mountain range of the Lyngen Alps. No hustle and bustle, no roads - just mountains, glaciers, fjords and the endless sky over northern Norway.
Travelling here gives you a sense of what freedom really means.

The crossing of the Lyngen Alps is one of the most impressive trekking tours in northern Norway. In eight days, it leads from Nordkjosbotn to Lyngstuva, the northernmost point of the peninsula - a route that hardly anyone takes and which reveals the true character of this Arctic mountain world.

Between deep valleys, quiet plateaus and rugged peaks, we experience the Lyngen Alps in all their facets. We cross glacial streams, pitch our tents by lonely lakes and follow old paths that only reindeer and wind seem to know. The view changes constantly - from the glistening Lyngenfjord to the white peaks of the Jiehkkevárri massif, on across vast tundra plains and out to the open sea in the north.

This tour is intended for experienced mountain hikers who are looking for solitude and unspoilt nature. Anyone travelling here needs to be fit and relaxed - and enjoy a real adventure. In the evening by the fire, under the midnight sun or the first northern lights, you can feel what makes this region so special: wilderness, vastness and silence.

You should fulfil these requirements so that you can have fun:

During the ski touring weeks, I adapt the difficulty of the descents and tours to the requirements and ability of the group. However, a confident parallel turn in different types of snow and fluent skiing in terrain with a gradient of up to 35 degrees are essential to really enjoy the tours. We cover an average of 1000 metres of ascent, which takes us around 3 hours.
