Private Guided Ski Touring in the Lyngen Alps

Are you already in Lyngen and looking to explore the region’s finest ski tours with an experienced mountain and ski guide? My day tours are designed for individuals, couples and private groups who arrange their own travel and accommodation and are looking for professional guiding for one or more days.

For the past 15 years, I have regularly been ski touring in the Lyngen Alps. Today, Lyngseidet is my second home. I know not only the well-known classics, but also many quieter routes and alternative options for different weather, snow and avalanche conditions.

The Right Ski Tour Every Day

In Lyngen, we do not choose the day’s objective far in advance. Wind, precipitation and temperature can vary considerably across the region. We therefore discuss the current conditions the evening before or in the morning and select the tour that best suits the group and the situation.

I take the following factors into account:

• weather, snow and avalanche conditions
• fitness and skiing ability
• personal preferences and preferred tour length
• current conditions in the different parts of the Lyngen Alps

Depending on these factors, the day may range from a relaxed summit above the fjord to a longer, more demanding ski tour with a high-alpine character.

Private Guiding for Your Group

The ski tour is planned exclusively for you and your group. We agree on the pace, vertical ascent and level of difficulty together. You can also book several consecutive days of guiding. This allows us to respond flexibly to changing conditions and explore different ski touring areas around the Lyngenfjord.

The usual starting point is Lyngseidet. Depending on the chosen tour, we may travel to another part of the Lyngen Peninsula, cross the fjord or visit one of the surrounding ski touring areas. The meeting point and transport arrangements are agreed individually.

Requirements

You should be able to make confident parallel turns in different types of snow and already have some ski touring experience. You should also be familiar with the use of climbing skins, ski crampons and avalanche safety equipment.

Most tours involve approximately 800 to 1,200 vertical metres of ascent. Shorter or more demanding tours can be arranged.

Your personal safety equipment must include an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe. If you are missing any equipment, I will be happy to help you arrange rental equipment in Lyngseidet.

Prices for Private Ski Touring

Guiding is organised exclusively for your group. All prices apply to a private group of up to four participants.

• 1 day of guiding: €700
• 2 days of guiding: €1,350
• 3 days of guiding: €1,950
• 4 days of guiding: €2,500

Booking several days allows us to explore different areas around the Lyngenfjord and remain flexible according to the weather, snow and avalanche conditions. Each day’s route, difficulty and ascent will be adapted to the current conditions and your group’s wishes.

For multi-day bookings, we can also include a rest day. For example, we reserve four consecutive days and choose the three most suitable days for ski touring at short notice. The price for this flexible “3 out of 4 days” package is €2,100.

All prices include tour planning and guiding by a state-certified mountain and ski guide. Any additional costs for ferries, longer transfers or special logistics will be agreed in advance.

For groups of more than four participants or bookings of five or more guiding days, I will be happy to prepare an individual offer.
